Pastor's Corner

 

Johnny was born and raised in Rock Hill, South Carolina where he attended public schools. Johnny has been married to his high school sweetheart, Jacqueline (Brown) Miller, since November 19, 1980. They have three adult daughters (Lakishia, Jacquia, & Jueneville); five granddaughters (Jahana, Johnae, Gabrielle, Viola, & June); and three son-in laws (Eric, Bernard, & Julian).

Upon graduating from high school Johnny immediately enlisted in the United States Air Force wherein he was an Honor Graduate from The Academy of Basic Training and served as a Medical Laboratory Technician.

After being honorably discharged from the Air Force Johnny enrolled into Winthrop University, Rock Hill, SC where he received a bachelor's degree in Philosophy & Religion, with a minor in Chemistry. He also holds a Master's degree from Duke University in Theological Studies, and has an additional 30+ hours of graduate work in Religious Studies at the University of South Carolina-Columbia and the University of North Carolina-Charlotte.

Johnny is an active member of the American Academy of Religion, the Society for Pentecostal Studies, and the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity.

Johnny's vocational confession is that his life calling is to be a teacher; first spiritually and then academically. Throughout his adult life he has systematically developed a passion for teaching, studying, and searching for more truth and a better understanding of all things that pertain to human life..... using the Christian Bible and the Holy Spirit in unity with one another as his primary resource.
